Your trust is the foundation of our marketplace. This policy explains what information we collect when you use Shopping Sewa, why we collect it, and the choices you have over your data.

Introduction

Shopping Sewa ("we", "us", "our") operates a multivendor e-commerce marketplace available as a mobile application on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and through our website. The app is published and is operated by SM BizSoft Pvt. Ltd..

This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you browse products, create an account, place orders, or otherwise interact with our platform. By using Shopping Sewa, you agree to the practices described here.

Shopping Sewa is a marketplace that connects buyers with independent sellers ("vendors"). Some data handling depends on the specific vendor you purchase from — see Section 05.

Information We Collect

We collect information to provide and improve the marketplace experience. The categories below summarise what we may collect when you use the app.

Account Info

Name, email, phone number, password, and profile photo.

Delivery Details

Shipping and billing addresses used to fulfil your orders.

Order & Payment

Purchase history, order status, and payment confirmations.

Device Data

Device model, OS version, app version, and unique identifiers.

Usage Data

Pages viewed, searches, taps, and in-app activity logs.

Location (optional)

Approximate location for nearby vendors and delivery estimates.

Information you provide directly

  • Registration & profile: the name, email address, phone number, and password you supply when creating an account.
  • Orders: the products you add to your cart, delivery addresses, recipient details, and any notes or instructions you add to an order.
  • Communications: messages, reviews, ratings, and support requests you submit to us or to vendors.
  • Payment details: information needed to complete a transaction, processed through secure third-party payment gateways (we do not store full card numbers — see Section 07).

Information collected automatically

  • Device & technical data: device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, IP address, language, and crash logs.
  • Usage information: products you view, searches you run, items added to cart or wishlist, and how you navigate the app.
  • Approximate location: if you grant permission, we may use coarse or precise location to show nearby sellers and estimate delivery.
  • Cookies & similar technologies: used on our website and within in-app web views (see Section 12).

You can decline optional permissions such as location, camera, or notifications. Core shopping features will keep working, but some convenience features may be limited.

How We Use Your Data

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

  • Provide the service: create and manage your account, display products, and operate the marketplace.
  • Process orders: confirm purchases, route orders to vendors, arrange delivery, and handle returns or refunds.
  • Payments: securely process transactions through our payment partners.
  • Communicate with you: send order updates, receipts, security alerts, and (with consent) promotional offers.
  • Personalise your experience: recommend products and remember preferences such as your wishlist or saved addresses.
  • Improve & secure the app: analyse usage, fix bugs, prevent fraud, and protect against abuse or unauthorised access.
  • Comply with law: meet legal, tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations.

We rely on legal bases including your consent, the performance of our contract with you (fulfilling orders), our legitimate interests in running a safe marketplace, and compliance with legal obligations.

How We Share Your Data

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only as needed to run the marketplace and as described below:

  • Vendors: when you place an order, we share the details necessary to fulfil it — such as your name, delivery address, contact number, and order contents — with the seller(s) for that order.
  • Logistics & delivery partners: couriers and delivery providers receive the information required to deliver your package.
  • Payment processors: licensed gateways handle your transaction securely.
  • Service providers: trusted vendors that provide hosting, analytics, push notifications, and customer support on our behalf, under confidentiality obligations.
  • Legal & safety: authorities or third parties when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, where data may be transferred subject to this policy.

Vendors & the Marketplace

Shopping Sewa is a multivendor platform. Independent sellers list and sell their own products. To fulfil your purchase, the vendor you buy from receives the order and delivery information necessary to ship your items and provide support.

Vendors are expected to use your information only to complete and support your order. However, each vendor is an independent business, and once your order information is shared with them for fulfilment, their use of that information may also be subject to their own practices. If you have a concern about how a specific vendor handled your information, please contact us and we will help address it.

Only share order-relevant information through the app. Avoid sending sensitive personal data directly to vendors outside of the platform's order and messaging features.

Third-Party Services

We use reputable third-party services to operate and improve the app. These providers process limited data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Firebase — authentication, cloud messaging (push notifications), crash reporting, and analytics.
  • Google Analytics / Play Services — usage measurement and app performance.
  • Payment gateways — secure processing of card and digital payments.
  • Maps & location providers — address selection and delivery estimates (if enabled).
  • Cloud hosting & storage — storing app data and media securely.

We encourage you to review the privacy policies of these providers to understand how they handle data. We do not control, and are not responsible for, the independent practices of third parties.

Payments

Payments are processed by licensed third-party payment gateways. When you pay, your card or payment credentials are submitted directly to the payment processor over an encrypted connection.

  • We do not store your full card number, CVV, or banking credentials on our servers.
  • We retain transaction references and order amounts to manage orders, refunds, and accounting.
  • Payment processors handle your payment data under their own security standards and privacy policies.

Look for the secure-checkout indicator during payment. All transactions are transmitted over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections.

Data Retention

We keep your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfil the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Account data — retained while your account is active.
  • Order & transaction records — retained as required for warranties, disputes, tax, and legal compliance.
  • Usage & device logs — retained for a limited period for security and analytics.

When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Some records may be retained longer where required by law.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (TLS), access controls, and secure storage. While no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, we work continuously to safeguard your data and respond promptly to any incidents.

You also play a role in security: keep your password confidential, use a strong unique password, and sign out on shared devices.

Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — update inaccurate or incomplete information, directly in your profile or by contacting us.
  • Deletion — request that we delete your account and associated personal data (see Section 11).
  • Object & restrict — object to or limit certain processing.
  • Withdraw consent — opt out of marketing or revoke permissions such as location and notifications at any time.
  • Portability — request your data in a portable format, where applicable.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 15. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Account Deletion

You can request deletion of your Shopping Sewa account and personal data at any time. You may do this:

  • In the app: open Profile → Settings → Delete Account and follow the prompts.
  • By email: send a deletion request from your registered email to [email protected].

When you delete your account, we remove or anonymise your personal information, except records we are legally required to retain (such as transaction and tax records). Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Providing an in-app account deletion path and this public deletion method helps meet both Apple App Store and Google Play requirements.

Cookies & Tracking

Our website and in-app web views use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and measure performance. Mobile analytics SDKs may use device identifiers for similar purposes.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings and limit ad tracking through your device's privacy settings. Disabling some technologies may affect certain features.

Children's Privacy

Shopping Sewa is intended for users aged 18 and over, and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it promptly.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Shopping Sewa after an update means you accept the revised policy.
